ESL Intensive Classes

Our ESL (English as a Second Language) intensive classes are designed for those who are interested in learning grammar the proper way, and improving their conversation skills. Pasadena Language Center offers ESL intensive classes for all levels: complete beginner (L0), beginner (L1, L2), intermediate (L3, L4), and advanced (L5, L6).
Each intensive level is divided in two sections: grammar and conversation. Grammar classes meet twice a week, for 90 minutes each time. We offer morning and evening classes. The program consists of lecture and practice of the various aspects of grammar. For information on the grammar structures covered in each level, please see the synopsis below. Conversation classes meet twice a week for 90 minutes each time. We offer morning and evening ESL conversation classes. These classes consist of pair-work exercises and discussions on different topics, as well as listening and pronunciation practice. |

Curriculum and Structure
The ESL intensive classes are structured into seven levels: complete beginner (L0), beginner (L1, L2), intermediate (L3, L4), advanced (L5, L6). Each level is completed in 2 sessions of 4 weeks each.

For Level 0 we use Top Notch Fundamentals by Pearson Education.
For Level 1 we use Top Notch 1 by Pearson Education.
For Level 2 we use Top Notch 2 by Pearson Education.
For Level 3 we use Top Notch 3 by Pearson Education.
For Level 4 we use Summit 1 by Pearson Education.
For Levels 5 and 6 we use Summit 2 by Pearson Education. In level 6, classes concentrate on writing essays and oral presentations.
